The season opened in a low rumble, the one that precedes clashes where everything can tipping point. And this day offered derbies tailored for legend.
In the north, the Ile-de-France derby, where the Pharaons of Évry-Courcouronnes and the Bandits of Nogent-sur-Marne met like two immortal clans doomed to clash again and again. A duel of territory, pride, blades drawn at every pitch, where every point gained resembled a piece of conquered kingdom.
In the south, in the Alpes-Maritimes, another shock: Contes against Nice, a ritual neighborhood clash, where the bats clacked like blows struck in rock and where each base won had the air of a peak seized.
Another duel, between the PUC and Rouen, took the form of a clan clash. Two teams who know each other, who challenge each other, and who advance with the same certainty: to exist in this championship, you have to hit the mark and stand tall. A tense clash, charged with pride and territory.
Finally, in the Alps, Grenoble and Toulouse found themselves in a duel of character, a duel of strength, where the first pitch was a declaration of war, and the final out a moment of glory.
