The Brittany League

The Brittany league boasts no fewer than 17 clubs in its region. First up, the geographical flagship team: the ‘Black Panthers’ of Bréal-sous-Montfort (and Plélan). The Breton big cats came out swinging this season, reaching the quarterfinals before being shut down by the eventual 2021 D2 champions, the Pirates of Béziers. Bréal also has representation in the regional championship. Who doesn’t know the ‘Hawks’ of La Guerche (with annexes in Châteaugiron and Janzé) in D2? A bit underwhelming this season, they should return to R1 where their reserve team already competes. And the ‘Red Wings’ of Rennes, who historically deserve to top the list of Breton clubs. Longtime participants in national-level championships, the Rennes side are now restructuring at the regional level.

Next up are the Brest ‘Dubliners’ baseball and softball club, the Ploermel ‘Wizards’, the Plougastel ‘Redcoats’, the ‘Cyclones’ of Dinan, the Pontivy ‘BreizhLanders’, the Fougères ‘Prédators’, the Pordic ‘Krakens’, the Grand Champ ‘Griffons’, the Quimper ‘Sharks’, the Thorigné ‘Fireflies’, the Lannion ‘Sea Dogs’, the Vallons Bretagne ‘Fire Horses’, the Pays de Montfort ‘Phénix’, and the Vitré ‘Korrigans’. A league filled with unique ‘beastly’ representations. Youth teams are well represented, with inter-league competitions in ’12U Major’ and ‘Little League 15U Senior’…
