Aleria on the rise

For its first issue of 2022, Dans vos Clubs heads to Corsica to meet a brand-new club born in the midst of the pandemic: Aleria, a town nestled in the heart of the Eastern Plain, halfway between Bastia and Porto-Vecchio.

Its President, Jeff Sandy, has just given baseball a prominent place in the region’s sports landscape, with the support of the Aleria municipality.

Based in Philadelphia, Jeff, who played baseball from age 8 to 24 (through college) moved to Corsica in 2002 after retiring. He was a sales and marketing director at a travel agency specializing in adventure trips to national parks…
