Division 1 Baseball: Rouen, Sénart and Savigny make a strong push for the Final Four

While our editorial team expected a balanced weekend with victories shared across all matchups, the reality on the field had other plans. Rouen, Sénart and Savigny swept their games and took a crucial step forward with just two matchdays left in the regular season.

Sénart dominates Toulouse and keeps hopes alive

The Templiers of Sénart gave Toulouse no chance. Seeking revenge, they delivered an impressive offensive performance. Led by an excellent Émile Brelle in the first game, the Île-de-France side compiled 15 hits for 12 runs.

The second match turned into a showcase. With 16 hits and 15 runs scored by the fifth inning, Sénart quickly ended the debate. On the mound, Vera delivered a top-tier performance with nine strikeouts.

For Toulouse, this double defeat seriously jeopardizes their playoff qualification hopes. Sénart, meanwhile, stays in the hunt for the fourth spot, though the mission remains challenging.

Rouen rolls past the PUC

The Huskies of Rouen also had a perfect weekend against the PUC. While the first game was more competitive, the second quickly tilted in favor of the Normandy side.

Under the guidance of an imperial Ryusuke Ito, who racked up seven strikeouts, Rouen won by mercy rule in the fifth inning. With 14 hits, the Huskies handed the Parisian side a brutal 16-1 defeat.

This victory allows Rouen to solidify their spot in the top four, while the PUC sees the specter of relegation looming dangerously close.

Savigny capitalizes on La Rochelle’s mistakes

The real surprise of the day came from La Rochelle. The Buccaneers never managed to compete with the Lions of Savigny.

In both games, Savigny took control early. In the first match, numerous defensive errors by the Rochelais allowed the Lions to quickly pull away. Romain Krzykawiak, so dominant at the start of the season, seems to be slowing down.

The scenario repeated itself in the second inning, where three more defensive errors gave Savigny opportunities they didn’t miss.

A Final Four taking shape

With just two matchdays left in the regular season, the standings are starting to take on a definitive shape. Montpellier, Savigny, La Rochelle and Rouen look well on their way to forming the Final Four.

At the bottom of the table, the PUC no longer holds their fate in their hands. Only an incredible feat by the Parisians, combined with a series of losses by Béziers, could still allow them to avoid relegation to Division 2.

Division 2 Baseball: the final four is set

The regular season has delivered its verdict. Metz perfectly negotiated their final weekend by dominating Ermont, while Meyzieu also validated their ambitions.

The playoffs will begin on August 29 and will feature Nice, Metz, Montigny and Meyzieu. Four ambitious teams that will compete for the Division 2 championship and, above all, the precious ticket to the elite of French baseball next season.

U18 European Championship: the French team on the podium

The French U18 team paved the way for the seniors with a particularly encouraging run at the European Championship.

The Bleuets made a strong impression right from their incredible victory over England. Down by seven runs, they staged a spectacular comeback before pulling off the win, demonstrating remarkable character.

In the semifinals, the French team ran into a solid German side before falling to the Netherlands in the third-place match.

At the end of this great adventure, the Bleuets finished fourth in Europe. A promising performance that confirms the progress of French baseball and hints at an encouraging future for the tricolor team. Italy finished as European champions.
