Women’s Softball – Division 1: The Queens Are Already in Place
The Division 1 women’s softball championship has barely begun, and the contenders for the throne have already staked their claim. Runners-up and semifinalists in 2024, the Comanches de Saint-Raphaël and the Pharaonnes d’Évry-Courcouronnes have yet to suffer a defeat so far. Relentless on the field, they also dominate the early individual statistics, leading in batting averages, RBIs, and even home runs. The numbers speak for themselves, and they are unequivocal: the favorites are already firing on all cylinders.

Behind these two powerhouses, the rest of the pack is split into two groups: Colombes and Pessac, each with two wins, hold a balanced position. Colombes, who faced the Pharaonnes, measured the gap they need to close to compete with the elite. Pessac, meanwhile, secured two victories against Clapier and cautiously occupies the middle of the table.
Finally, the Rabbits de Clapier and the Grizzlys de Grenoble, still searching for their first win, bring up the rear. Their record is spotless, but beware, nothing is decided yet. These two teams have proven in the past that they know how to bounce back.
Baseball – Division 2: The First Outlines of the Standings Are Emerging
On the men’s D2 side, the championship is also beginning to reveal its contenders. In Pool A, the PUC and Valenciennes are leading the way, while Meyzieu and Nice are doing the same in Pool B. These four teams are logically establishing themselves as the engines of this early season.

However, three teams already seem to be struggling. Montigny, recently relegated from Division 1, is struggling to adapt to this new level. Rouen is still searching for its rhythm and has yet to find the path to victory. As for Clermont-Ferrand, it’s a surprise: the team, rarely at the bottom of the table, has so far recorded a worrying goose egg.

On the statistics front, there are still few clear trends, but we note a strong presence of the PUC pitchers, well established on the mound. Special mention also for Pino Centeno (Montigny), author of the first home run of the season, with a .357 average and already 6 RBI. A glimmer of hope in an otherwise cloudy sky for Montigny.
