Weekend Matches: Softball and Baseball Shine a Spotlight on Women
The end of the season is heating up, and it’s the women who are stepping up to the plate and setting the pace. With the Division 1 softball grand finale and the Open de France women’s baseball tournament, the weekend promises intensity and spectacle.
Division 1 Women’s Softball: Comanches vs. Pharaohs, a High-Flying Duel
It’s the showdown we’ve all been waiting for: the Comanches of Saint-Raphaël, unstoppable throughout the regular season (19 wins and just one loss), take on the Pharaohs of Évry (14 wins, 6 losses). The best-of-five final kicks off with two matches this Saturday (7 PM) and Sunday (11 AM) at Évry’s home field.
The Comanches enter as favorites, having already beaten the Pharaohs twice in June… on their own turf. But beware: finals are never decided in advance. The Évry players will need to bring their A-game to compete in this series. Winning at least one match this weekend would be crucial to keep hopes alive for a high-stakes second round, scheduled for October 11th and 12th at the Creps de Boulouris in the South.
A high-tension duel where the weather might just throw a wrench in the works. But rain or shine, the intensity will be there.

Open de France Women’s Baseball: The Next Generation Takes Charge
Meanwhile, Saint-Lô hosts the Open de France women’s baseball tournament, organized by the Jimmer’s. A competition that, held after the summer, would have been even more thrilling before the European Championship. But no matter: over two days, three regional teams will battle it out in a no-holds-barred showdown.
Normandy, Hauts-de-France, and Île-de-France: a 100% northern rivalry, geographically speaking, that highlights the vitality and rising power of French women’s baseball. Already in its fourth edition, with the same ambition: giving players the visibility and recognition they deserve.
