Final weekend before the break: softball, baseball, and promise for the next generation
The curtain falls on the 2025 baseball and softball season before the winter break. A final weekend packed with emotion, marked by the women’s Division 1 softball final and two major events for the 17U and 18U youth across France.
Women’s Division 1 Softball: The Comanches eye an eighth title

For a decade, the Comanches de Saint-Raphaël/Toulon have dominated French women’s softball. If they win this weekend, they’ll secure their eighth French championship title in ten seasons — an almost absolute hegemony that fuels debate in the sport.
This remarkable consistency doesn’t diminish the quality of the Var club, a national benchmark, but raises questions about other teams’ ability to challenge the established order.
The Pharaonnes d’Évry, the runners-up, still have a mathematical chance to turn the tables, despite suffering two heavy defeats last weekend. To pull off the upset, they’ll need to win three consecutive games on the southern team’s turf — a titanic, almost impossible challenge… but not unthinkable.
Grenoble in 2023 and Évry in 2022 had already sparked hope for renewed suspense by winning the title. This weekend will show if history can be rewritten — or if the Comanches dynasty continues its triumphant march.
The next generation in action: 18U French Cup and 17U international tournament
Meanwhile, the young stars will take center stage at two major events.

In Bonville, the Final Four of the 18U French Cup will bring together Metz, La Rochelle, Meyzieu, and Paris. Four teams from Division 1 and 2 clubs, a symbol of the vitality and quality of training in these structures. A great showcase of the groundwork done on the fields throughout the season.

Further south, in Toulouse, the first edition of an international 17U tournament will pit the national teams of France, Spain, and the Netherlands against each other. An unprecedented initiative in France, designed to give playing time and confront young European talents. A valuable experience to feed future national teams and strengthen ties between federations.
Final weekend, then, before the bats fall silent for winter. But between a dynasty in the making, hopes of an upset, and youth on the rise, French baseball and softball show they’re not going into hibernation without promise.
