The second matchday of division 1 baseball is here. Four games are on the schedule, with La Rochelle Boucaniers and the Templiers de Sénart having the weekend off.
Toulouse heads to Normandy to build on their strong start to the season. The Rouen Huskies, who host them, will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Montigny last week.
Prediction: Split between the two teams.
Montigny travels to Paris to face the PUC. The Parisians start the competition, and based on Montigny’s performance against Rouen last week, they’ll be ruthless.
Prediction: Two wins for Montigny, with at least one by the mercy rule
A clash between Montpellier and Savigny. The latter are entering the competition. It’s tough to gauge them, even based on their recruitment. However, their ambition this year and their desire to do even better than last year is clear. Montpellier, however, has strong pitching this year and has it all together right from the start, unlike last year.
Prediction: Split between the two teams, with tight scores
Finally, Nice hosts the Cometz. Both teams lost their first two matches. Metz has received some of their players, but not all. As for Nice, they were able to adjust after their first home test against Sénart, where, despite the loss, they kept the scores close.
Prediction: Split between the two teams
In division 2, it’s the opening day.
Three games kick off this championship. La Guerche de Bretagne makes its debut in this league against Dunkerque. Ronchin hosts Valenciennes, and Thiais hosts Rouen. It’s too early to make predictions.
Only one match this weekend in division 1 will be broadcast: Rouen vs. Toulouse.
In softball, it’s a rest day for both men’s and women’s teams. However, it’s the launch of the new Super League championship. Three teams, each consisting of 40 randomly selected players, will face off. The matches will be broadcast on the following Facebook page: here
In American baseball, the opening day is not until March 30th. In the meantime, spring training continues, and many games will be free to watch this weekend at decent hours on the MLB app or website.
