The playoff matchups are set. This weekend’s results set the stage for thrilling showdowns across the various championships.
Division 1 Baseball

The dust has settled. This weekend’s results brought a few surprises but didn’t shake up the standings.
Metz pulled off a stunning upset, sweeping Montpellier with two hard-fought wins. They finish tied on points with Toulouse but miss out on the playoffs due to a penalty earlier in the season for fielding too few French players.
La Rochelle let one slip against Montigny, with Robinson Maestre on the mound. The finish was nail-biting, but the Cougars secured a well-earned win. The second game was a blowout, with Montigny running out of pitching depth. The Cougars now face Sénart in a best-of-five playoff to decide who gets relegated to Division 2.
Rouen, unstoppable, gave the Templiers no chance. The Templiers will soon battle Montigny for survival in Division 1. The Huskies wrap up the regular season with a commanding lead, setting them up as heavy favorites for the 2024 French title.
Finally, Savigny clinched two tight wins over Toulouse’s Tigers. The Tigers narrowly avoided missing the playoffs and can thank Metz for a rules oversight that kept them in the hunt for the semifinals.
Metz and La Rochelle are done for the season. The other six teams will battle it out starting September 29th to decide the French champion and the team relegated to Division 2.

Division 2 Baseball

We know the three teams in each pool who will battle it out in the playoffs. In Pool A, it’s Valenciennes, Bréal, and PUC. In Pool B, it’s Béziers, Nice, and Clermont Ferrand.
The race for the French title is wide open, setting up a thrilling postseason. Some teams are eyeing the title but not promotion to Division 1.
We’ll know more about the playoffs by late September.
Division 1 Softball

As expected, the Comanches secured the top spot in the regular season. There’s still one postponed match (Grenoble vs. Pessac), but it won’t change the top of the standings.
We’ll see the Comanches of Saint-Raphaël face Evry in the championship final. The two teams have met six times this year, with the Comanches winning every time. Unless something unforeseen happens, there won’t be much drama in the final.
