Weekend Matchday

Weekend Matchday

Baseball: National championships enter their decisive phase, the Bleuets aim for a European final.

National championships take advantage of this European Cup period to play their reserve matchdays. With only three matchdays left in the regular season in Division 1, every game can now weigh heavily in the race for the playoffs.

Division 1: Every Victory Counts

PUC Faces the Rouen Challenge

The PUC hosts the Rouen Huskies with the ambition of securing at least one win. The Parisians have already shown they can challenge the top teams, as evidenced by their recent performance against La Rochelle. For Rouen, the stakes are high: qualification for the playoffs is far from assured, even though several games remain to be played.

Prediction: Split victories.

Toulouse Travels to Sénart

The Toulouse Tigers make a long summer trip to the Sénart Templiers. Both teams currently occupy the middle of the standings but can still hope to join the playoff race. A double victory for either team could completely reignite their ambitions.

Prediction: Split victories.

Savigny Hosts La Rochelle, a Playoff Showdown

Important matchup between Savigny and the La Rochelle Boucaniers. The Île-de-France side needs two wins to catch up with the Rochelais and the Barracudas. But it’s hard to imagine one team completely dominating this doubleheader, as the forces seem evenly matched.

Prediction: Split victories.

Division 2: One Last Matchday Before the Break

Division 2 also plays a reserve matchday, the last before the summer break. The final phases will resume at the end of August.

Meyzieu Can Secure Their Ticket

The Meyzieu Cards host Bréal in a makeup game with the feel of a playoff. Currently fourth, the Rhone-Alps side occupies the last qualifying spot for the playoffs, with Bréal just behind. A double defeat would completely restart the race, with both teams tied on points. The head-to-head record could then make all the difference, giving the calculators a workout.

Prediction: Meyzieu secures the essentials and qualifies for the playoffs.

Metz Aims for First Place, Ermont Plays for Survival

Already qualified for the playoffs, the Metz Cometz can still aim for the top spot in the championship. A better ranking would offer a more favorable bracket in the semifinals as well as home-field advantage.

For Ermont, the stakes are different. A double defeat against the Messins would condemn the Expos to last place and relegation to Division 3. On the other hand, a win would allow them to catch up with Valenciennes. Again, the head-to-head record could separate the two teams.

Prediction: Metz wins twice.

U18 European Cup: The Bleuets One Game Away from the Final

In Italy, the French U18 team is making a remarkable run. The Bleuets finished second in their group with a record of four wins and one loss. Their spectacular comeback against Great Britain will remain the turning point of the group stage and opened the doors to the semifinals.

A performance that confirms the progress of French baseball on the international stage.

However, the challenge ahead is immense. The French will face Germany, undefeated in Group B and impressive since the start of the competition. On paper, the statistics heavily favor the Germans, but the Bleuets have already shown they know how to defy predictions.

This Saturday at 7:30 PM, France will play for a spot in the final. And in one game, anything is possible.
