The fifth and final matchday of the Women’s Division 1 Softball Championship takes place this coming Sunday, 26th September. The Comanches will face the Grizzlies, while the Panthers take on the Rabbits.
At the top of the standings before this final round are the Comanches from Saint-Raphaël and the Pharaohs from Évry. The latter have already played their eight matches, so the Comanches only need one win to clinch the 2021 regular-season title. In third place, the Rabbits from Clapiers-Jacou are firmly established.
In August, the Comanches traveled to Italy to compete in the European Cup, where they suffered seven defeats against just one victory over the Czechs. Little by little, their level is rising, and if they win this French championship again, they’ll have the chance to return next year.
The five teams will meet again on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd October at the Vipères Park in Valenciennes for the third French Women’s Softball Challenge. (The first two, in 2018 and 2019, were won by the Comanches.)
