The WBSC (World Baseball Federation) has kicked off the U23 Baseball World Cup.
Taking place in Mexico, the tournament features 12 global teams split into two groups. France did not qualify for this competition.
The top European sides (Netherlands, Germany, and Czechoslovakia) are present, though Israel and Italy are missing.
Notably absent are the Americans and Japanese, though Latin American teams (Mexico, Panama, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, etc.) are well represented.
The competition began this Friday, with matches scheduled throughout the day on the WBSC’s YouTube channel.
In total, there will be 50 matches, all excellently broadcast, giving fans plenty of top-tier baseball to watch during the final stretch of the MLB’s regular season, which will culminate in the playoffs mid-October (alongside the French playoffs).
The U23 Baseball World Cup final will take place on Saturday, October 2nd.
