Three home runs were all it took for the Atlanta Braves to claim the 2021 American League championship in this sixth World Series game.
Jorge Soler hit the first home run and was named MVP of the final. Starting pitcher Max Fried made the difference for the Braves, with the Astros barely showing up in the final match.
Founded in 1871, the Braves only moved to Atlanta in 1996 (having previously been based in Boston and Milwaukee). They won their fourth World Series title in 2021, ending a 26-year drought without a championship.
Once again, it wasn’t the teams that dominated the regular season who emerged victorious at the end. American baseball is slowly winding down for the year, set to resume in the spring of 2022.
