The first two matchdays of the Division 1 softball championship took place for both girls and boys.
Women’s
The championship features eight teams. While it’s too early to make bold statements about the championship, as in previous years, two teams are already standing out above the rest: the Comanches de Saint Raphael and the Pharaonnes d’Evry. Naturally, their statistics speak for themselves. However, the best pitching so far is from the Rabbits de Clappier, and the Comanches boast the highest batting average.
On the home run front, the first matchday saw four home runs, including two by Evry’s Chiara Enrione-Thor.
We’ll have to wait for the clash between these two teams on June 19th to see the championship’s true shape, which is great for the suspense.
The second matchday is scheduled for April 3rd.

Men’s
On its side, the men’s softball championship also kicked off last weekend. With seven teams in the championship, it’s played in a round-robin format with multiple matches over the weekend.
Three teams are already making their mark: the Comanches de Saint Raphael, the Barracudas de Montpellier, and the Rabbits de Clappiers-Jacou. However, not all teams have played the same number of matches, and in that regard, it’s the Cobras de Contes who are putting on the best performance.
Next up is a round on April 9th-10th in Saint Raphael
