Contes Men’s Softball France Championship: Contes on the edge of the suspense
The weekend kept all its promises on the softball fields. At home, Évry had ideally launched its tournament by dominating Nice (9-4) and then Contes (5-0), quickly validating its ticket for the final after a flawless performance in the group stage. At the same time, Nogent saw its hopes fade away after two heavy defeats against Contes (5-9) and Nice (0-15).
The struggle for second place in the final was played out on Sunday morning between Nice and Contes. And after a tense duel, it was the players from Contes who snatched their qualification… to write, a few hours later, the most beautiful page of their history.

On expected confirmation of the domination of Rouen and Montpellier. It was finally a weekend of questioning that was played.
The Pirates struck a major blow against the French champions from Rouen in Béziers. On Saturday night, after 12 innings of combat, a liberating walk-off by Tranbarger gave the locals a 7-6 victory, taking advantage of three Rouennais defensive errors. On Sunday, carried by a fiery crowd, the Biterrois did it again (3-2), showing defensive control and offensive efficiency (8 hits to 2) that broke the Huskies.
The same scenario in Sénart, where Montpellier was shaken. The Templiers outclassed the Barracudas on Saturday, winning by mercy rule in the seventh inning after an offensive demonstration and a solid performance by Émile Brelle on the mound. On Sunday, Montpellier tried to react, but lost again by a whisker.
At Chartres, Savigny inaugurated its new field against Toulouse. The Lions imposed their rhythm on Saturday (9-0), carried by a constant attack and a great Acuña. On Sunday, despite a late comeback by Toulouse, Savigny maintained the advantage of one point in an offensive match, confirming its solidity… despite a sometimes fragile pitching.
Consequence: the ranking is relaunched. Rouen and Montpellier slow down, while Sénart and Savigny return to the race. Béziers, for its part, sends a strong signal. Note that La Rochelle and PUC will play their matches on May 23.
Division 2 baseball: Metz and Montigny confirm their ambitions

Meyzieu and Nice shared the points and neutralized each other.
Metz dominated its match against Clermont with two mercy rule victories, confirming its status as a serious contender for the promotion. The same dynamic applies to Montigny, which was dominant against Rouen 2, clearly showing its ambitions to return to the highest level.
Montpellier and Valenciennes neutralized each other in a spectacular series, accumulating no less than 54 points scored over the two matches. Finally, Ermont and Bréal shared the victories at the end of intense and hit-rich encounters.

In the rankings, Metz and Montigny take advantage of the draw of Meyzieu and Nice to keep the lead. At the bottom of the table, Montpellier sees its situation become dangerously complicated in the fight for survival.
