The pool matches of the Challenge de France concluded this morning with the final game between La Rochelle and Sénart, which had been suspended due to darkness on Friday evening.
The tension was palpable, but the hierarchy held. Two passed balls allowed the Sénart side to retake the lead in this match in the ninth inning. Victory 6-4 for the Templiers.
We now look ahead to the clash between the Sénart and Rouen sides for the first semi-final. Rouen is managed by Keino Perez, future manager of the French national team. Sénart is stringing together matches after yesterday’s marathon 4-hour game.
On the other side, at 4 PM, we have the other semi-final: Montpellier against Savigny. Montpellier caused a surprise in the pool stage by overcoming Sénart 12-9. Savigny got the better of the Cougars 15-3.
The winner of the Challenge de France will qualify for the CEB (European Cup) after the final, which will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at 3 PM at the La Rochelle stadium.
