This start to May has been rainy, but it only affected the easternmost field in Metz, where both games against Sénart were postponed. In all other categories, all matches were able to be played.
Division 1 Baseball
No change in the overall standings. The leaders Toulouse solidify their position, and Montigny, at the bottom of the table, finally secure their first win. Notably, Metz, with four games in arrears, will have less rest than others as they approach the second half of the season. With the Challenge de France starting on May 8th, we can’t absolutely define a clear favorite as we could in the past.

The Surprises
Toulouse in Montpellier manages to win both games. Injuries for the Barracudas and weak turnout for the Tigers show that the red and blacks have a chance to perform well this year if they don’t repeat last year’s mistake of losing consistency at the end of the season. Rouen drops a game to Montigny after leading 1-0 until the eighth inning. Montigny bounces back by finally turning the tide in their favor.
The Expected
Savigny and La Rochelle split their games, although the significant score of the first game in favor of the Boucaniers is a bit surprising. The second, closer game in favor of the Lions better reflects their level.

Division 2 Baseball

The Surprises
La Guerche pulls off a great victory against the PUC. Clermont wins both of their games against Béziers, who take a hit in this championship, especially due to Nice, who now sit top of their group. Ronchin also manages to steal a victory from Bréal in their first game.

The Expected
Rouen and Valenciennes split their games. Sénart rolled to two victories against Thiais. Nice wins both of their games against Anglet. The two geographical extremes of southern France put up a good fight, and the scores show that Nice doesn’t dominate this competition either. Meyzieu also managed to leave with two victories against Eysines.

Men’s Softball Division 1

The Barracudas take flight and build a lead that almost puts them out of reach in this championship. There are three matchdays left, but on one, Montpellier won’t play. However, nothing is decided for the second place between Nice and Pessac. Notably, Toulouse managed to snatch their third victory of the season from Pessac.
