Scorching weather conditions heavily disrupted the weekend schedule, leading to the cancellation of numerous games. These will be rescheduled on upcoming reserve dates.
Division 1 Baseball
Only one match was scheduled and ultimately took place. In this Southern duel, the surprise came in the first game where the Biterrois dealt a heavy defeat to the Toulousains. Béziers secured victory before the limit thanks to the mercy rule, including two innings with five runs each. Pitchers Garcia and Laot from Toulouse had a nightmare on the mound, giving up a total of 16 hits to a Biterrois offense in fine form. Despite another home run from Ariel Soriano, Toulouse never managed to get back into the game.
The second act offered a completely different scenario. The Biterrois bullpen, featuring Froment, Gyonneau, and Gamas, struggled this time, with each pitcher giving up at least five hits. The Toulouse Tigers took their revenge at the end of the nine regulation innings.
This split of victories works in Béziers’ favor, as they distance themselves from the PUC in the fight for survival. Meanwhile, Toulouse sees their playoff hopes further complicated.
Division 1 Softball
Only one match took place between Nice and Colombes, and it went in favor of the Wild Cats. The Niçoises failed to build on their recent successes.
Meanwhile, the Comanches continued their impressive dominance of the championship. Facing Pessac, they secured two victories before the limit, with convincing scores of 14-3 and then 10-3. Saint-Raphaël continues their perfect run and remain undefeated this season.
Division 2 Baseball
Only one match was played between Meyzieu and Bréal, with a victory for the Cards.
In Montpellier, the Montigny Cougars pulled off the weekend’s big upset by easily winning both of their matches, further confirming their ambitions in this fiercely contested championship.
