We review the results, category by category, highlighting both the expected outcomes and the surprises.
Division 1 Baseball

The Surprises
While the Boucaniers looked strong against the Cometz, they suffered their first loss of the season but still lead the championship. Metz continues to show their growing strength, and this victory is proof of that. One standout performance: Esteban Briones from La Rochelle hit two home runs in the same game, a feat that appears to be a first in France’s D1 by a French U23 player.
Montpellier continues to struggle. Injuries are affecting their composure (Couvreur, Pontiac, Siguira), and they split their series against Sénart, who earned their first win.
The Cougars of Montigny took a heavy loss against the Lions of Savigny with lopsided scores. After a double defeat on opening day, the Cougars face a necessary period of self-reflection.
The Expected
Rouen and Toulouse split their series, though the 11 runs Rouen allowed in the seventh inning of game 1 must leave a bitter taste.

Division 2 Baseball

The Surprises
The PUC and Nice split their series against Ronchin and Meyzieu, respectively.
Bréal continues to prove they belong in Division 2, sweeping Sénart in two games. They won the second match by a single run, with both teams combining for over 30 runs in a single game.
The Expected
Beziers, Clermont, and Valenciennes each returned with two victories against Eysines, Thiais, and Anglet, respectively.
Valenciennes and Beziers maintain their lead in their respective pools.
Super League
A great weekend in the Super League with six matches broadcast via the sidelinehdlive platform. A great live presentation, though it’s a shame the chosen streaming platform is Facebook, which doesn’t effectively target the young female audience eager for softball. Clelia Costes and Enora Simon showed their dominance.

Division 1 Men’s Softball

Montpellier positions themselves as the likely winner this year. No major surprises, except that Toulouse fails to raise their level this season.
