Division 1 Baseball: A Championship Already Splitting Apart
After just three matchdays, France’s top baseball division is already showing signs of a widening gap. The Boucaniers de La Rochelle are holding steady at the top, but chaos reigns behind them. Montpellier, Rouen, Sénart, and Toulouse are lurking in second place, while Béziers, Metz, and Savigny are already struggling to keep up.

The weekend started off predictably, with most series ending in splits as expected in the double-header format. But Montpellier broke the mold: the Barracudas sent a clear message by sweeping the Pirates de Béziers in two games. A strong climb up the standings for the Hérault side, and a tough blow for Béziers, who are already under pressure to bounce back.
In Metz, the clash with Savigny lived up to expectations. With a shaky start to the season for the Lions, the Cometz hoped for a sweep. While the JFL from Savigny responded in the second game, securing a well-earned win for the Lions, the Paredes tipped the scales in Metz’s favor in the first match. Result: a split series, but crucial lessons about the teams’ strengths.
For Sénart and Toulouse, it was also a split, but with glaring disparities. While the first game was tight, the second turned into a rout, with the Tigers winning by the mercy rule. A contrast that once again highlights the gap in level between the JFL and foreign pitchers in Sénart. Fortunately for the Templiers, Lopez, their ace, continues to dominate the league: three wins in as many starts, and an imperial presence on the mound that keeps his team near the top.

Division 2 Baseball: The Tone is Set
No splits in Division 2: every series had a clear winner.
In Pool A, the PUC and Valenciennes made a strong statement, each sweeping their opponents, Montigny and Rouen. For the Cougars de Montigny, things are going from bad to worse: freshly relegated from D1, they’re struggling to adapt and piling up losses in a nightmarish start to the season.

In Pool B, Meyzieu and Nice put on a show, respectively against La Vallée du Gapeau and Clermont. The Auvergnats, so close to pulling off the upset in the second game against the Cavigals, fell just short… after struggling in the first match. Two losses that leave them with regrets.

Division 1 Women’s Softball: No Mercy on Opening Day
The 2025 trend is confirmed: no splits to start the Division 1 Women’s Softball season. And the favorites didn’t blink.
Saint-Raphaël and Évry-Courcouronnes brought out the big guns, with double-digit scores. The two powerhouses showed right away that they mean business, ready to dominate the season.
But watch out: the Wildcats de Colombes, newcomers to the elite, roared to life in their first series. A explosive debut for the Île-de-France side, who are already making waves among the top teams.

Division 1 Men’s Softball: No Mercy Either
The Pharaons and the Cavigal dominated their doubleheaders against Pessac and the Contes Cobras, respectively. Here too, the gaps in the standings are widening.
