Division 1 Baseball
The two struggling teams this year, 7th-placed Sénart and 8th-placed Montigny, couldn’t hold their own. They each lost both of their matches. The others split their games.

It was Sénart who started off evenly in the first match, but lost on a walk-off with a score of 5 to 4. They repeated the same pattern in the second match, even with the same score. What followed wasn’t just a collapse, but an outright disaster as they gave up 11 runs in the eighth inning and went down 13 to 10. Tough times for the Templiers, who will now have to fight to avoid dropping to eighth.
As for Montigny, Toulouse calmly put up the necessary runs to win both matches. The scores weren’t as lopsided as Montigny experienced against Montpellier last week, but the losses are still there. Montigny remains at the bottom of the regular season standings, even though two matchdays are still on the schedule. Toulouse lands a solid blow and stays in a strong position for playoff qualification.
Rouen and Metz split their games, and we saw a much more balanced second match this Sunday between the two teams, allowing Metz to take it. This ends a 12-game winning streak for the Huskies. In Saturday’s first match, Rouen was dominant and quickly put up enough important runs to never be caught. In the second match, Metz took the lead right from the start and never let go for the full nine innings. The Huskies now comfortably sit atop the regular season standings and can’t be caught. The Cometz find themselves tied with La Rochelle in fifth place.
Montpellier came out with the same energy as against Montigny, sweeping both victories against La Rochelle. They were off to a good start in the first match, leading 8 to 3, before being caught and losing in the 11th inning on a walk-off. The second match was better managed, and there was no comeback, allowing Montpellier to climb and maintain second place, tied with Savigny.

Women’s European Softball Cup
The French team kicked off the competition in the European Cup. They got off to a strong start by winning their first two matches against Denmark and Switzerland with very favorable scores.
Top of Group A, they will face Germany today, Monday, who lost yesterday against the Czechs.

Men’s European Softball Club Cup
The Montpellier team (the Bracos) competed in a high-level competition with many clubs (23 competitors) at the European level. With a record of five wins and three losses, they finished in a respectable fifth place in the competition, which was won by the Hurricanes. Notably, in the group stage, Montpellier finished first in their pool.
