Baseball’s Division 1 and 2 continue their battles even though the summer season has just begun. Division 2 will now take a break and resume in September. In Division 1, July will remain active, with the break only in August.
Division 1 Baseball

Rouen continues its momentum and takes a comfortable lead at the top of the standings by securing two more wins on Verasy’s turf against the Barracudas. This brings their consecutive wins to nine.

The other teams split their results. Montigny managed to pull off a win against Sénart but still doesn’t feel secure enough to dismiss relegation fears this year. Metz also split with Savigny, winning the second game. The scoring differences between the two games of the same matchday are striking and suggest that the second game is more prone to errors and hits. This will be an angle we can analyze soon in our editorial.
The standings haven’t changed much, but the backlog of matches will shake things up in July.

Division 2 Baseball

The split between PUC and Valenciennes shows that these two teams will likely be the ones heading to the playoffs, but Bréal’s double win comes as a spoiler. In Pool B, the split between Nice and Clermont suggests the same for the playoffs, but Béziers also plays its part between them. We’ll have to wait until September to see which of these six teams make the playoffs.
