Scorching heat on the fields, pressure in the standings: the weekend’s baseball and softball results
🔥 Division 1 Baseball – Playoff heat intensifies
Under sweltering conditions, Division 1 diamonds witnessed fiery clashes. This weekend, four teams came out swinging while four others felt the heat… in the standings.
Rouen, Montpellier, Savigny, and Toulouse emerged victorious from their respective series, further distancing themselves from Metz, Sénart, Béziers, and La Rochelle, who are now fighting for survival. With just three matchdays left, the playoff picture is starting to take shape.

🔹 In Rouen, the Huskies left no room for doubt: more precise, more consistent, they executed their game plan while Metz struggled to find their footing.
🔹 Béziers gave it their all, especially in a thrilling second game, but the gap with Savigny was too wide. The Lions, more clinical, asserted their dominance.
🔹 In Montpellier, amidst a heatwave that could melt bats, the Barracudas kept their cool against Sénart. A clean, double victory that cements their status as the undisputed leaders.
🔹 Finally, Toulouse delivered: a narrow first-game victory, snatched by the skin of their teeth, followed by a more commanding performance against La Rochelle.

💥 Result: a clear gap at the top. The spots seem locked in, bar a massive upset. For the bottom four, time is running out and the pressure is rising…
🥎 Division 1 Women’s Softball – Saint-RaphaĂ«l, reaching new heights

The anticipated showdown between the season’s top two teams went in favor of the Saint-RaphaĂ«l Comanches. Fresh off their recent Challenge de France title, they once again proved their dominance. Their double victory this weekend propels them to the top of the standings, comfortably positioned before the playoffs.
Their opponents didn’t disgrace themselves, but they’ll now have to prepare for a rematch… likely in the final. A repeat clash, this time with a clear favorite and underdog.
⚾ Division 2 Baseball – The North struggles, the South takes charge

🔹 In Pool A, Valenciennes fell to the PUC in the first match. The second wasn’t played, but the Northerners hold onto their provisional throne.
🔹 Between Rouen and BrĂ©al, it was an even split: one win apiece. The battle to avoid the wooden spoon is on, and it’s set to go down to the wire.

🔹 In Pool B, Meyzieu showed no mercy: two more convincing victories over Clermont-Ferrand, who seem destined to remain mid-table.
🔹 Nice, meanwhile, had to dig deep in the first match against Vallée du Gapeau (winning by a single run), but then managed the second perfectly. The Eagles have firmly established themselves at the top of the standings.
