Cooling breaks will surely be welcome this Music Festival weekend! But on the fields, the atmosphere promises to be scorching with several decisive matchups in baseball and softball.
Division 1 Baseball
Only one confrontation is on the schedule this weekend, but it could weigh heavily in the race for end-of-season goals. The Toulouse Tigers travel to the Béziers Pirates for a high-stakes doubleheader.
The Toulousains must absolutely sweep to stay in contention for a top-four playoff spot. Meanwhile, Béziers is fighting for survival, looking to distance themselves from the relegation zone, currently threatened by PUC. The two recent losses to the Paris side – including a forfeit defeat – have reignited the suspense in the relegation battle. PUC now seems capable of catching up to Béziers by season’s end.
The first game kicks off Saturday at 7 PM, the second Sunday at noon.
Prediction: two wins for Toulouse.

Division 1 Women’s Softball
We thought Évry was the only team capable of challenging the Comanches de Saint-Raphaël’s dominance. That wasn’t the case. This weekend, it’s Pessac’s Panthers turn to take on the underdog role and attempt the feat: knocking off the reigning champions at least once.
At the bottom of the standings, Nice hosts Colombes hoping to confirm their recent form and climb out of last place.
Évry, facing Grenoble, will aim to maintain their championship lead by winning twice and keeping pressure on Pessac. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, will be looking to secure at least one victory to avoid sinking to the bottom of the table.

Division 2 Baseball
Five matchups are on the schedule, and on paper, the leaders face bottom-of-the-table teams. Barring a major upset, the standings may not change much.
Newly crowned leaders after last week’s power play, Nice travels to Clermont aiming to confirm their status. Montigny heads to Montpellier while Metz hosts Valenciennes.
Meyzieu faces a tough away game in Bréal, aiming to stay in the top four.
Finally, Rouen hosts Ermont in a clash between the two bottom teams. A showdown that could already weigh heavily in the relegation battle and give a first glimpse of the fight to avoid demotion.
