European Baseball Cup – Decisive Third Round

The European Baseball Cup’s third round kicks off, with early trends already emerging. In their respective groups, Montpellier and Rouen have perfectly navigated their first two matches. Rouen’s Huskies, dominant, are already qualified for the next stage (Pool of 3 teams instead of 4). Meanwhile, Montpellier’s Barracudas face a tough challenge tonight against Tenerife’s Marlins, the tournament favorites. A top-tier clash, crucial for the next phase: even in case of defeat, both teams would secure their ticket to the next round, but the identity of their future opponent is at stake.
Division 2 – 7th Round: Decisive Duels at the Top and Bottom of the Table

In Pool A, the top match pits Valenciennes, the leader, against Montigny, their closest rival. If the Cougars manage to turn the tide with a double victory, the suspense will be intense for the rest of the season. But if Valenciennes wins, the Northerners will take a nearly definitive step towards the playoffs.
Lower in the standings, PUC hosts Bréal in a mid-table showdown. The Parisian club is the only one still hoping to secure the second spot. To do so, they must capitalize on every point this weekend. Bréal, on the other hand, has nothing to lose: even with a double defeat, they would remain second-to-last, as Rouen is on a bye.

In Pool B, the two co-leaders, Meyzieu and Nice, face Vallée du Gapeau and Clermont-Ferrand respectively. The gap seems already wide in this pool, and only miracles could upset the current hierarchy. A nearly impossible mission for Clermont, away against Nice’s Cavigal.
Division 1 – Béziers Aims to Confirm

Early match of the 9th round with a showdown between Toulouse and Béziers, in the Pink City. The Pirates are riding high after a stunning performance against La Rochelle and hope to repeat their feat. The Toulousans, meanwhile, struggle to find their rhythm and must tighten their ranks to avoid sinking further.
Division 1 Women’s Softball – Pessac and Évry Seek Redemption

On the softball side, Évry hosts Pessac for two advanced matches of the 6th round. Both teams are coming off disappointing performances in the France Challenge: Pessac, frustrated after narrowly losing in the semifinals to the future champion, Évry, disillusioned after a lackluster final. This weekend, the stakes are clear: to stay in the top tier, Évry must absolutely win both home games. Revenge-seeking Pessac will certainly have something to say about that.
