A packed weekend for baseball with Division 1 and 2 action, plus the third round for women’s softball. At this stage, no clear leader has emerged in any championship. The season is off to a flying start, and unlike last year, which began in mid-April, we’ve already had a full month of competition behind us.
Baseball Division 1
Four matches that should help us gauge the trends for 2023. Two heavyweight clashes: Savigny vs. Sénart and Toulouse vs. Montigny. The latter will be broadcast on Baseball TV France.
Two other matches: La Rochelle travels to PUC, and Montpellier’s Barracudas host Nice’s Cavigal.

Baseball Division 2
Sénart tops the standings with four wins and a chance to pull away with a double victory over Thiais. Five other teams also have four wins, but some have played six matches while others have played four: Dunkerque, Thiais, Béziers, Clermont, and Meysieu.
Clermont hosts Meysieu, and Béziers travels to La Rochelle, both aiming to keep the pressure on at the top. This fourth round won’t be enough to give us a clear picture, though. The championship spans 14 rounds, so not much is decided yet. Valenciennes will broadcast their first home match of the season against La Guerche de Bretagne on Vipère TV. A first meeting for both teams.

Women’s Softball Division 1
The top three teams face the bottom three, so we’ll either see the leaders pull away or the standings tighten. For the drama, we’d prefer the latter. Evry’s match will likely be broadcast on the club’s YouTube channel: Pharaonnes.
