As Boucan’s Field in La Rochelle hosted the French Senior National Team earlier this week and is still recovering from the heavy artillery unleashed by the power hitters of the France Challenge (7 home runs, including 4 in the final), the D1 schedule offers its final makeup date (July 3-4). And what a showdown! The Templiers (17-1, 1 HR in the CDF) face the Barracudas (16-2, 4 HR in the CDF final, winners)… The final double-header for both teams, who barely had time to catch their breath. In the Challenge, MUC edged out Sénart 12-9, featuring a grand slam by Lepichon in the third inning. These are crucial matchups as they will finalize the final standings for Group B. The Barracudas need to sweep both games to claim the top spot in Group B…
Barracudas in the regular season (18 games): .289 batting average – 1.73 ERA
Sénart in the regular season (18 games): .307 batting average – 1.84 ERA
Rouen in the regular season (20 games): .276 batting average – 2.71 ERA
Savigny in the regular season (20 games): .286 batting average – 3.67 ERA
The playoffs begin on September 26 and run through October 17. Rouen (12-4, 3 HR in the CDF, runners-up) is already qualified and will face the second-place team from Group B. Then, Savigny (10-6), second in Group A, will take on the Group B leader. In the play-downs, the rest of the D1 teams will face off in a crossover format (Clermont is out). Montigny vs Cometz, La Rochelle vs Toulouse, and Nice vs PUC. Get your predictions ready!
D1 French Championship final: October 10, 16, and 17. Looking forward to seeing you there!
