In the race for playoff spots, both standings in Division 1 were in full swing. Only PUC (5th, 3W-7L) had the day off.
In Group A, Rouen defeated Toulouse at Pierre Roland Stadium. Two decisive losses for the former Tigers, 10-0 and 10-1.
With 3 hits for the southerners and 17 for Rouen in the first game (Brainville’s home run), the outcome was clear. In the second game, 5 hits against 13… Prioul secures his third win, Camacho his first. Rouen takes the lead in the standings with Savigny (7W-3L) and Toulouse (5W-7L) in third.
Savigny hosted Montigny. The Cougars surprised the former leaders twice. 2-8 and 4-5! 8 hits on each side but 6 errors for the home team… First win for Santana. It was Lopez who then secured his second victory against the Lions. No errors in this game but 12 hits (Mayeux’s home run) for Montigny. Savigny fought back (Acuna’s home run) and remains tied for first (7W-3L). Cougars de Montigny are fourth (4W-6L).
Group B. Nice hosted the Templiers de Sénart. The visitors won both games without surprise, 6-10 and 7-11. No specific data for this match.
Sénart are second (10W-0L) and Nice last (2W-12L).

The MUC continues to conquer victories with two games won against Metz. The Cometz had a close call in Veyrassy. First game 12-2 for the Barracudas. Canelon nearly threw a no-hitter, (solo hit by DH Mangeat). It’s his fifth win. 13 hits for Montpellier. In the second game, Casanova secures his fourth win. 4 hits for the Cometz against 10 for the Montpelliérains. During the day, the Cometz made 7 errors. Barracudas still first (12W-0L), Metz (4W-10L) fifth.
The only split this weekend was between the Boucaniers and Clermont. A tense first game that ultimately went to the Arvernes 1-4. 8 hits for Clermont against 9 for the home team. Only one error for La Rochelle. Cauchy takes the win, his second. The other game was won by La Rochelle 13-3. Mercy rule. 8 hits for the Arvernes against 13 for the home team. 2 errors on each side. Oliveros secures his second win of the season. Important victory for the Auvergnats. They are fourth (4W-10L) and the Boucaniers, meanwhile sanctioned by two forfeits against Metz (covid), are third (6W-6L).
The 8th matchday will see PUC host the Huskies and Montigny have a bye. Rouen, off to a strong start, should cause some damage in Paris. Toulouse hosts Savigny, the second-place team. The Tigers could spring a surprise. But the Lions have no intention of letting Rouen pull away at the top of the standings. The Boucaniers will challenge the undefeated Templiers. While the challenge is high for the Rochellais, nothing is impossible. Metz has a big trip to Nice ahead. With one or two wins possible. Tough for Clermont, who host the undefeated Barracudas.
Group A: Savigny has every interest in winning both games against Toulouse. The Lions could then overtake Rouen if they lose a game against PUC. Delicate situation for Stade Toulousain, closely followed by Montigny and PUC.
Group B: Between the Cometz and the Arvernes, the standings could change. The Boucaniers should keep their place. Whatever happens, the leaders of Group B, MUC and Sénart, will not budge from their top spots.
