D1 10th matchday
The final matchday of the D1 championship took place at the end of the summer vacation period, between August 21 and 22. Only the matches Boucaniers vs Templiers and Rouen vs Cougars remain scheduled for next weekend. Whatever one thinks of the results, a certain logic, which had been emerging since the first quarter of the regular season, is respected. The A standings see the leaders impose themselves and the top of the hierarchy confirmed. The Huskies (11-3) have not lost since late June and are leading the way. Closely followed by Savigny and Jiminian junior (10-6). Third, the Ignymontains (8-6), Toulouse (6-10) and the PUC of Rodriguez (3-13). The two postponed matches between Rouen and Montigny scheduled for next weekend will change nothing in the standings.

The B standings experienced a key moment during this 10th matchday with a summit clash between the Barracudas of Cosgrove and the Templiers of Paz. Neck and neck, the two teams, very dominant throughout these last few months, fought to see who would really win the pennant of the regular season. It was the Templiers, at home and untouchable, who took both matches. 8-2 and 6-5. The second match won thanks to a bunt by Martinez who sent Perdomo home. The 2021 season, threatened by the new reality affecting the entire society, has yet honored all its promises! Provisional B standings: Sénart 15-1, Montpellier 16-2, La Rochelle 8-10, Metz 7-13, Clermont 5-15, Nice 5-15. Note a grand slam home run by Lakmeche for the Boucaniers against Nice.

It would take two defeats of the Templiers to reverse the standings in favor of the Barracudas who would go first… No doubt that their last two matches in La Rochelle will focus attention. The Boucaniers have no choice, they are going to have to be stratospheric.
The next important step is the France Challenge at the beginning of September, geographically shared between Pineuilh and La Rochelle!
See you very soon live or delayed with Baseball TV on the field, starting this Sunday for the clash La Rochelle vs Sénart!
