Starting next Wednesday, the Europe Cup B kicks off at Rouen’s Saint Exupéry field. It rewards teams that, in France, won the Challenge de France. The champions of their respective leagues will gather in Bonn for the Champions Cup. So why is Rouen, the 2021 French champions, in the B Cup? After missing out on their European campaign in 2021, the Huskies lost their spot in the Europe Cup A. To reclaim it, they must win the B Cup.
Seven teams will compete in two pools. There were originally eight, but the Belarusian team was disqualified due to the unrest caused by Russia in Ukraine.
In Group A, the Rouen Huskies will play at home against Austria’s Vienna Metrostars and Belgium’s Hoboken Pioneers.
Group B will feature Switzerland’s Therwil Flyers, Spain’s Tenerife Marlins, Croatia’s Olimpija Karlovac, and France’s Montpellier Barracudas.
15 matches will take place over five days, culminating in the final on Sunday, June 12th at 4 PM.
Results will be available on the WBSC Europe website linked below.
All matches will be streamed on YouTube via Huskies TV: here, where you can find all event schedules and match times.
We’ll cover every match through our special correspondent for Baseball TV France, François Colombier, who will also provide commentary for some games. Starting Wednesday, we’ll bring you daily updates on each matchday, beginning with an in-depth analysis of the competing teams’ strengths.
