Only two matchdays remain in the French women’s softball championship before the September playoffs. Five rounds have been played, and as expected, the three powerhouse teams lead the standings. The Pharaonnes, Rabbits, and Comanches are battling it out at the top.
Scores often exceed ten runs, highlighting the gap between the top teams and those who remain dedicated to their beloved sport despite their losses.
The Pharaonnes are dominating this year with eight home runs, a .424 batting average, and a 2.53 ERA for their pitchers.
After the final July matchday of the regular season, many of these players will swap the yellow softball for the white baseball to prepare for the French Women’s Baseball Open. The official preselection list was recently published on the federation’s website. Notably, across the Atlantic, there are also softball players who will have the opportunity to bolster the French baseball team, which will compete in Montpellier in early August 2022.
