After 25 years with the San Francisco Giants, Bruce Bochy retired in 2019. He then decided to spend his time managing baseball by coaching the French national team. In March 2020, he found himself in a warm-up match with them and during a friendly against a Giants farm team, France won… Well, a Triple-A pitcher from the Giants came in for the second game to restore the hierarchy.
Then came the health crisis, the training camp was postponed, and the WBSC competition was pushed back indefinitely. As of today, Bochy has said he would be interested in any offer to manage a team again. Let’s hope this doesn’t stop him from taking the reins of the French national team again in September 2021.
