Division 1 and 2 Baseball
The suspense has lost its luster in both Division 1 and Division 2. Béziers dominated Valenciennes, who were playing at home, and won both matches, needing just one more victory next Saturday. Rouen also dominated Savigny, who were at home, and won both matches, needing just one more victory next Saturday.

Put like that, you’d think the finals could be wrapped up quickly next weekend, followed by a long break.

So, we’re hoping for a comeback from both Valenciennes and Savigny. We’re thinking of Montigny, who sees relegation to Division 2 looming as Béziers rack up wins. And we’re thinking of Savigny, who won’t be able to argue with their local authorities for a French championship title to meet their goal of securing a proper field.
For Béziers, revenge for 2023 is taking shape, especially since if they win, they won’t have to face a Division 1 team to hope for promotion. The promotion will be automatic.

Major League Baseball
Over in the U.S., the World Series finals are set. We were expecting the final showdown between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Instead, we’ll get a clash between the two best hitters in the league, who have shattered records with their staggering stats. We dream of a seventh game, with the teams tied 3-3.

We dream of a seventh game that goes into the ninth inning with the Dodgers leading by one, and it’s Aaron Judge’s turn to bat with a Yankee on base. Home run, the Yankees are champions; strikeout, the Dodgers win. For this dream to come true, the pitcher facing Judge must be Shohei Ohtani, who would return to the mound after not pitching all year.
A rematch, in a way, of the World Cup final with Japan against the USA and Trout against Ohtani. If it happens, it will be in the early hours of Saturday, November 2nd.
