Division 1 Baseball: La Rochelle and Montpellier flex their muscles, the suspense remains intact

This is undoubtedly the best season for the Boucaniers since their promotion to the top flight. Against Templiers struggling to find their offensive rhythm, the Rochelais delivered two convincing victories. The local gunslingers, as our Quebec cousins like to call them, came out swinging. On the mound, Kryzkowiack continues to impress outing after outing, perfectly backed up by Franklin De La Rosa.
In the South, the Barracudas also made their presence felt. Two mercy-rule victories over powerless Parisians, overwhelmed by Montpellier’s offensive firepower and, above all, by the stellar performance of pitcher Ben Couvreur, who delivered an XXL outing.
In the standings, La Rochelle joins Savigny while Montpellier finds its stride. Barring a major upset, these three teams seem to have secured a serious shot at the playoffs. Behind them, Rouen, Toulouse, and Sénart are set for a fierce battle to claim the final qualifying spot.
The PUC, despite two wins—one hard-fought, the other on a technicality—still struggles to convince. Béziers also showed some vulnerabilities. In the fight for survival, nothing is decided yet.

Division 1 Women’s Softball: Saint-Raphaël unstoppable, Pessac confirms, Nice rises from the ashes

The Comanches gave the Pharaohs no chance. Yet, during the France Challenge, the latter had hinted at the possibility of shaking up the formidable Saint-Raphaël machine in a single game. It wasn’t to be: Saint-Raphaël reminded everyone why they remain the championship favorites.
Pessac pulled off the weekend’s big move, securing two solid victories over Colombes. A double that allows the Girondins to firmly establish themselves in second place in the standings.
Finally, Nice rises from the ashes. Thanks to two crucial wins against Grenoble, the Azuréennes have completely revived their season and kept hope alive of avoiding the cellar. They’re back in touch with Grenoble and Colombes, promising a hotly contested end to the championship.

Division 2 Baseball: Nice takes control, Metz and Montigny lose ground

Montigny folded against Clermont in their series opener and watched as Nice extended their lead in the standings. Metz suffered the same fate, letting the second game slip away against Montpellier after conceding ten runs in the first inning—a deficit they couldn’t overcome.
In Mezieu, the show was total: a mercy-rule blowout in the first game against Ermont, followed by a brutal collapse in the second, marred by no fewer than seven defensive errors.
Valenciennes and Bréal, meanwhile, split their victories.
In the standings, Nice secures a slight advantage thanks to their double victory over Rouen. The Azuréens are clearly stating their ambitions: a return to Division 1 is more than ever in their sights.
