Championships Resume: The Play-Off Race Restarts Under the Heat

After two weekends of reserve matches in several competitions and a heatwave that had long relegated spikes to the closet, the championships are back in full swing. A chance for some teams to confirm their status, while others will need to quickly find their rhythm.

Division 1 Baseball

Rouen hosts Béziers

Back from a frustrating European campaign, the Huskies return to the championship with a great opportunity to bounce back. Like Montpellier last week, Rouen seems to have all the cards in hand to pocket both victories against the Pirates of Béziers, currently second-to-last in the standings. The Normandy side’s defensive solidity contrasts with the difficulties faced by the Béziers pitching mound over the past few weeks.

Prediction: Rouen wins both games.

Montpellier hosts Sénart

The Barracudas remain on a convincing performance against Béziers and approach this series with full confidence. On the other hand, the Templiers return to competition after nearly a month without an official match, a break that could weigh on the first game. However, Sénart’s experience should allow for a quick return to rhythm.

Prediction: Split victories.

Savigny travels to Toulouse

The Lions also return from Europe with regrets after a campaign where they failed to compete, even at the second continental level. The Tigers, on the other hand, have been inconsistent and are coming off a disappointing last outing. As league leaders, Savigny has an added motivation: maintaining their top spot by now fully focusing on national deadlines.

Prediction: Split victories.

La Rochelle hosts the PUC

The Parisians heavily suffered in their last confrontation against the Boucaniers, current league leaders and authors of their best season at this level. Against a particularly successful Rochelle attack, the PUC will need to pull off an exploit to hope to leave with a victory.

Prediction: La Rochelle wins both games.

Division 1 Men’s Softball

The final phase is approaching and the moment of truth has arrived. After a first part of the season marked by a new competition format, bringing together all the teams before a split into high and low pools, the forces in play are now clearly identified.

The Contes Cobras approach this final sprint with full confidence. Already winners of the France Challenge, they are in an ideal position to achieve a prestigious double.

Division 2 Baseball

Ninth round and last meeting before the summer break. While several reserve matches are still scheduled over the next two weekends in July, this round will already give a first trend before the final phases of late summer.

Meyzieu hosts Valenciennes

This was last season’s final showdown. This time, the two teams meet in a mid-table battle. The Cards, however, seem better equipped this season to take the advantage.

Bréal hosts Clermont

Same stakes in Brittany with a duel between two mid-table teams. Bréal starts with a slight advantage over the Clermontois, who, like Valenciennes, are having a season below expectations.

Rouen hosts Ermont

After leaving the main field to Division 1 in the morning, the Rouen reserve team will find a pitch that will still be quite hot. The stakes are entirely different: the fight for survival. The Huskies, historic Division 2 tenants, would be the first surprised by a relegation that would become a real threat in case of a poor result.

Nice hosts Montigny: the match of the weekend

This is undoubtedly the most anticipated match of the day. This confrontation should clarify the hierarchy as the play-offs approach. Nice and Metz still have two reserve matches left after this weekend, unlike Montigny, which will have completed its regular season.

Division 1 Women’s Softball

The championship is now on its summer break and will only resume at the end of the summer. In the meantime, place to the Super League, an unmissable event where the thirty best Division 1 players are divided into three teams.

Beyond the spectacle, this format allows for mixing rosters, creating new associations on the field, and offering additional playing time to the best players in the championship. An excellent revealer of talents and true leaders of the discipline.
