The Government launched Pass’Sport in June 2021 to encourage young people to join sports clubs and support the associative sports sector. Over 900,000 young people have already benefited from Pass’Sport through 43,000 sports associations. The million-beneficiary mark will be reached by the end of November 2021.
Open to young people under 18 who receive the back-to-school allowance, the disabled child education allowance, or the disabled adult allowance (AAH), Pass’Sport is now also available to AAH recipients aged 16 to 30. The Government has also decided to extend the scheme until February 28, 2022, to account for the seasonality of all sports disciplines, particularly winter sports, and to allow those who were not aware of the scheme at the start of the school year to benefit from it.
A true back-to-school sports allowance funded by the State, this aid consists of an immediate €50 reduction on the cost of club membership. It can be used, in addition to other local authority schemes, by all affiliated sports associations and, in the areas covered by the city policy, by approved sports associations participating in the scheme.
Since its launch, Brittany, the Pays de la Loire, Occitanie, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Normandy have been the regions where Pass’Sport has been most used in relation to the number of potential beneficiaries.

In absolute terms, the top 5 regions with the most Pass’Sport used to date are: Île-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Occitanie, Hauts-de-France, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Nationally, the young beneficiaries of Pass’Sport have mostly chosen to join football, basketball, judo, gymnastics, and tennis clubs.
Included in the 2022 Finance Bill, Pass’Sport is permanently included in the budget of the Ministry in charge of Sports, with €100 million allocated.
