BTVF: Who exactly is Paolo Brossier?
P.B.: Hello everyone. I discovered baseball in 2013. I play for the Montpellier Barracudas. I’m 21 years old. I’m a starter in the D1 team, where I mainly play center field. I’m a lefty.
BTVF: You also play overseas. Can you explain how your career started there? Where are you at now?
P.B.: Let’s rewind. Alongside French D1 and the national team, I’m part of the roster for « Middle Georgia State University » (NAIA) MGA Knights. The NAIA is a sports association organizing programs for major colleges and universities in the U.S. At Middle Georgia State, I’m improving more and more. Last year, I played outfield with solid performances (I batted .364). I’ll do my best to keep improving. The adventure in the States really began in 2019 at « Hillsborough Community College » USA (NJCAA D1), where I secured a scholarship. Before that, I played from 2016 to 2018 at « Pôle France Toulouse » and Montpellier, already in D1. From 2014 to 2016, same teams, but in N1 (former D2).

BTVF: How do you see your progress in the D1 championship with the Barracudas?
P.B.: It’s always a pleasure to return to play with the Barracudas. It’s a return to my roots, playing with teammates I’ve known for a long time. It’s really fun and enjoyable to see everyone’s progress.

BTVF: In La Rochelle, baseball from the western region, a bit off-center, got to discover many of our internationals during the France Challenge. Can you share your impressions as a player after this national event?
P.B.: Having won, it was definitely an unforgettable experience! Especially since this performance was achieved by a very young team…
BTVF: Montpellier hit 4 home runs in the CDF final. You hit 2 bombs, in the fifth and sixth innings. Can you describe how you experienced these two moments?
P.B.: This final unfolded in an unexpected way. We didn’t expect to be so comfortable against Rouen, a team that has shown a lot of talent for years and has always been competitive in these situations. As for my performances, well, it was cool to be there when it mattered to secure this victory with the guys… Probably in a state of grace, as JM Mayeur said!

BTVF: What do you think about the last European championship in Italy with the national team?
P.B.: The European championship didn’t go as we would have liked, but it’s okay. A good generation is on the rise, and no matter the result, it’s an experience we’ll benefit from to perform in the future.
BTVF: How do you see your near and distant future in baseball?
P.B.: I live for baseball and take it day by day, doing my best to perform every time I get the chance. The rest will take care of itself. I’m a confident person.
BTVF: Thanks, Paolo, for your availability. We know your schedule is packed!
P.B.: Thank you, and see you soon on the fields!
