For the third year running, London will host two games in the series between the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies.
One match on Saturday at 7 PM and another on Sunday at 7 PM. Known for its home runs, London Stadium will once again give players the chance to ignite the European crowd.
Time lapse of the football stadium’s transformation into a baseball stadium
The MLB is increasingly embracing the concept of away games in South Korea, the Dominican Republic, Australia, and Mexico. We were supposed to have one in Paris in 2025, but the change of concessionaire for our Stade de France, right in the middle of preparations for this event, has scuppered the project. Another missed opportunity for France in baseball, the king of sports worldwide but still a sporting exception in France.
Back to this weekend’s matchup. This is the NL East. Currently, among the six teams in this division, the Phillies lead with 43 wins against 19 losses. The Mets are struggling, sitting fifth out of six with 26 wins and 35 losses. The outcome of this series seems almost certain given the vastly different levels of the two teams.
If the season ended today without playoffs, the New York Yankees and the Phillies would be co-champions.
There are still seats available at the big London stadium: you can get them here
