France has been without the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby since they were last held in 2016/2017 and 2018, with no signs of a return in 2021.
So let’s turn our attention across the Atlantic to the Home Run Derby. This tournament features eight players selected based on the first half of the season. Interestingly, only one participant this year has already competed in a Home Run Derby: Pete Alonso, who won the event in 2019 with 23 home runs, edging out Vladimir Guerrero, who hit 22.
The most anticipated competitor in this year’s contest is Japanese sensation Shohei Ohtani, who leads the regular season in home runs with 32. Ohtani is an impressive player, unique in his dual role as both a pitcher and a power hitter. This rare combination of skills makes him a standout in the tournament.

Tune in during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday (July 13-14) starting at 2 AM to catch the Home Run Derby action, fresh from the French fireworks in your city.
