Weekend Results: Baseball, Men’s Softball, and Women’s Super League Kick Off 2025
Last weekend marked the start of major competitions for the 2025 season, with the first matches of Division 1 Baseball, Men’s Softball, and the Women’s Super League. A quick look at the results that had the fields buzzing.
Division 1 Baseball: Rouen, La Rochelle, Toulouse, and Sénart Dominate

Eight matches in total spiced up this baseball weekend, with three games scheduled on Saturday and five on Sunday. Notably, there were no ties, and all winning teams swept their series. Rouen, La Rochelle, Toulouse, and Sénart proved unstoppable.
Rouen, hosting Béziers, made the difference thanks to their French championship experience. The match was evenly balanced, but the Normandy side managed to assert themselves as the innings progressed.
Meanwhile, Sénart, bolstered by players from Montigny—Lopez, Do Carmo, and Mayeux—completely crushed Savigny, who failed to replicate the form that made them French champions last year.
In Toulouse, the Metropolitans managed to keep Metz at bay, but just barely, winning by a single run in both games.
Finally, La Rochelle, at home, surprised Montpellier, especially in the first game, where the margin was wider than expected.
These four teams seem well on their way to qualifying for the playoffs in six months, even though the competition is far from over.

Men’s Softball: A Championship Still Finding Its Footing
The men’s softball championship, modest with only four teams in contention (Contes, Nice, Évry-Courcouronnes, and Pessac), still delivered its share of surprises. Each team won one game and lost another, highlighting a relative balance among the teams. The next matches should provide more benchmarks to assess the true level of this championship still in development.

Women’s Super League Softball: Cohesion and Improvisation on the Menu
The Women’s Super League, in its third year, once again impressed with a unique format: a two-day tournament featuring three teams made up of the top 30 French players. The main interest of this competition is that it serves as physical and strategic preparation for the athletes, forcing them to improvise and adapt to game situations in real time.

The matches, broadcast live, showcased stunning individual performances, such as Clélia Costes, who shone throughout the competition. The goal of this Super League is primarily to improve cohesion and prepare the players for future challenges, with coaching tailored to the immediate results of the games.
