As we saw in the March 23rd article, the first matches of this new women’s softball competition, the Super League, took place over the weekend of March 25th and 26th.
After these 6 matches, the event was a resounding success. Despite the mixed weather and strikes that prevented some players and coaches from traveling to Évry, the overall assessment is positive.

Plenty of great plays, competitive spirit in good humor, and individual and collective performances that promise great things for the future.
Beyond offering matches to these athletes who could potentially be selected for the French national team, this event helps promote our sport and gives more visibility to these young women, who, let’s remember, are not professionals and must juggle their personal lives, work, studies, and softball.
So, bravo ladies and young women for your commitment and what you do! Bravo also to your entourage who support, train, and push you to help you in your projects.
Here are the 3 teams, the match schedule, and the results.
The draft took place the previous Monday, and the 3 captains chose from different hats (pitchers U18, players U18, players U22, senior players) the players for their team.
After these matchups, the 3 new captains (players who scored the most points) are: Pauline Prade with 475 points, captain of the black team, Prapeng De Ridder with 416 points will be captain of the yellow team, and Ambre Brouard, U18 player, with 384 points for the purple team.

Notably, 2 home runs over the weekend by Pauline Prade and Rosalie Costes.
The next matchday will take place on April 22nd and 23rd, with the draft, to be followed live, on April 17th.
Do individual performances alone suffice to be at the top of the list and become captain, or are collective victories in innings and matches a real plus?
After a first experience, we will see how the captains build their teams.
Answer in a few weeks.
