Spring is finally here, foreign reinforcements are still clearing customs, and young French players are stepping up at all levels. The season is truly kicking off this April, just like in the major American and Japanese leagues.
Division 1 Baseball
Third matchday of the championship. Only five teams have played five games so far, and in the standings, only Rouen and Montigny have won three. The Lions de Savigny finally enter the fray, traveling to Nice with strong chances of sweeping their two matches. They, along with the PUC and La Rochelle, are the only clubs yet to win a game. The Rochellais host the Huskies. Still shorthanded, they’ll struggle to upset the Normandy thunder even on their home turf. Stade Toulousain should dominate the PUC if they play as they have before. One match on Saturday at 3:30 PM and another on Sunday at 10:30 AM. The wildcard is the Metz vs. Sénart match. A cautious prediction would be a split between the two teams.

Division 2 Baseball
True kickoff for this championship, which saw two games last weekend. No fewer than six matchups are scheduled for this Sunday, April 2nd. The French champions, Clermont Ferrand, face the Boucaniers de la Rochelle. As for the vice-champions, Valenciennes, they’ll travel to Rouen. Béziers, the dark horse, heads to Bayonne Anglet. We’ll have a better sense of this championship’s depth after this true second matchday.

Division 1 Women’s Softball
Second matchday of the championship, interrupted by the new Super League competition. So far, only the Grizzlys and the Pharaonnes have swept their first two matches. They face off against each other this Sunday. The Comanches de Saint Raphael travel to Nice, and the Rabbits host the BCF. This will also be a telling day for who between Evry and Grenoble will take the championship lead.

Division 1 Men’s Softball
No matches this weekend, for now the Rabbits de Clappiers are perfect at the top of the standings.
