Final stretch.
In D2, it’s the Tigers de Thiais (13-3) who will face the Pirates de Béziers (12-5) in the final! The Tigers swept the Dragons de Ronchin in the semi-finals in just two games. 7-3 and 4-2. Tight scores nonetheless. The Dragons finish with a D2 record of 10W-6L. It took the Pirates three games to eliminate the Templiers’ reserve team with scores of 11-1, 2-5 and 14-11. Templiers’ record: 11W-4. On October 9th and 10th, save your weekend for this D2 final of the French championship! (a good couch and some pizza…).
In D1, the « last of the last » took place at Veyrassi’s field in Hérault where the Barracudas had to win two games against the Templiers to secure the first place in the B standings (matches postponed from the fourth round). Nothing was less certain and the Templiers didn’t back down…
The foreign rosters were back on both sides since the France Challenge, ready to fight. The internationals, back from the Euro, ready to let loose. With a split (4-7 and 16-6), the Sénart side (18-2) secured the top spot in the B standings and thus earned the privilege of facing the second-place team in the A standings, the Lions de Savigny (10-6). First games Lions vs Templiers on Savigny’s turf. The rest at the Sénart armada.
Meanwhile, the Barracudas, second in Group B (17-3) will have to hit hard at home in the « away » games against the Rouen side (12-4). Huskies certainly very fired up after their crushing defeat in the France Challenge final, inflicted by these same Montpellier players… The confrontation will reach its climax in Normandy. Revenge is in the air!
Save your weekends of October 3rd, 9th and 10th for these D1 semi-finals that promise a lot of engaged baseball! (a good couch and some pizza…). PLAY BALL!
