From May 29 to 31, the French Women’s Softball Challenge takes place at the Pharaonnes d’Évry-Courcouronnes’ field. An essential and highly anticipated competition, gathering the D1 women’s teams, ready to fight for the title and put on a show.
We saw with the French Baseball Challenge that this kind of event is the perfect opportunity for teams struggling with results to prove they can shine and step up at any moment.
Each team arrives with major assets, determined players, and a clear ambition. Here’s an overview of the contenders!

The Comanches de Saint-Raphaël:
The current D1 leaders are logically the favorites, as they have dominated the season from the start. Their aggressive offense and solid defense have made them a particularly formidable team. Their star pitcher, Prapeng De Ridder, is in top form. She boasts impressive statistics with a 1.15 ERA and 56 strikeouts. A well-oiled collective and a mastered game strategy will be their keys to winning the trophy.
The Pharaonnes d’Évry-Courcouronnes
They are the defending champions and are playing at home, two good reasons to consider them serious contenders for the final victory. Ambre Martine Marie-Agnes Brouard, one of the best hitters in the league, has a .576 batting average and 19 hits. The team relies on a mix of speed and power to destabilize their opponents and try to win the title.

The Panthères de Pessac: this is the team to watch!
Third in the regular season, Pessac has players capable of causing a surprise. Their pitcher, Louise Le Chénadec, has a 0.88 ERA and solid control with only 1 walk in 8 games. Their strategic approach and team spirit could take them far in this Challenge.
The Grizzlys de Grenoble: the team lying in wait.
The Grizzlys have had an inconsistent season, but their players have what it takes to surprise. Kristyna Korousova boasts excellent consistency, solid hitting power, and a major offensive impact. Her 1.093 OPS shows she is a key asset for Grenoble’s offense.
The Wildcats de Colombes: they’re ready to bite.
The Wildcats have shown potential throughout the season and hope to upset the hierarchy. Their combination of youth and experience could allow them to surprise their opponents and secure crucial victories. The player to watch on the Île-de-France side is Livia Roeck. The versatile player has good consistency, powerful hitting, and a strong offensive impact. Her .919 OPS shows she excels in several aspects of the game, combining contact ability and aggression at the plate.
The Rabbits de Clapiers-Jacou: the will to create an upset.
Despite a difficult season, the Rabbits arrive with the will to show they can compete with the best. If their collective works well during this Challenge, they could disrupt the established order and leave with an honorable result. The Rabbits can count on Lila D’Hauteville. She is not only a regular hitter but also a player who knows how to create opportunities and put pressure on opposing defenses. Her OPS above 1.200 shows she excels in all offensive aspects of the game.

A fierce battle for the title
The French Challenge is an opportunity for each team to prove their worth and win a prestigious trophy, not to mention the chance to qualify for next year’s European Cup Winners’ Cup (Coupe A). Between offensive power, mound mastery, and sharp strategies, the show promises to be memorable. Who will come out on top? The answer will be on the Pharaonnes d’Évry-Courcouronnes’ field on May 31, in the late afternoon. Note a broadcast of the final on the French sports platform.
