Baseball – Division 1: Rouen and Montpellier strike hard, the duel is on!

The elite’s top teams didn’t flinch this weekend. Revenge-minded Rouen handed Béziers two decisive defeats. Meanwhile, Montpellier dominated La Rochelle and reclaimed the championship lead, determined not to let go. The two giants confirm their grip on a season that seems to be turning in their favor.
Further down, the suspense remains intense. Sénart and Metz, at home, split the points against Savigny and Toulouse respectively. Each match delivered its share of thrills: a decisive home run, classy plays… But while Savigny and Metz catch their breath, the road remains long to escape the relegation zone for good. Béziers, meanwhile, stalls and lingers in 6th place, looking fragile.
At the midway point, the trend is clear: Montpellier and Rouen are pulling away, boosted by the experience they’ll continue to gain in the European Cup. The battle for the playoffs promises to be fierce between Sénart, La Rochelle, and Toulouse. Beware of any drop in form, as Béziers, Metz, and Savigny are lurking, ready to pounce at the first opportunity.
Notable: a few big hits changed the game, like the home runs from Dagneau (Rouen) or Lopez (Sénart), genuine turning points in their matches.
