A light weekend, with postponements and advanced matches
The schedule is particularly sparse, as weather conditions have already led to several postponements, while this reserve day has also allowed some matches to be moved up.
Division 1 Baseball
All eyes will be on Montpellier, where the Pirates host the Béziers Barracudas for a Southern derby with very different stakes.
For Montpellier, a good result would almost secure their survival and leave the PUC isolated in last place in the standings. On the other side, Béziers have a very different goal: to catch up with the two leaders, Savigny and La Rochelle, in the race for the top spot.
The Barracudas have already shown their ability to take down the big teams by winning once against Toulouse. They could well repeat this feat on Montpellier’s turf.
Prediction: a split of victories between the two teams.
Another advanced match will take place, and it’s crucial as it features two of the top teams facing off. La Rochelle and Savigny. These two matches will reflect the rise in power, particularly in pitching, of the Boucaniers and the resurgence of the Lions, who have been struggling in the European Cup recently.
Prediction: a split of victories between the two teams

Division 1 Women’s Softball
Still undefeated since the start of the season, the Saint-Raphaël Comanches play an advanced match against the Nice Cavigals.
On paper, the Varoises seem heavily favored. Yet, the Niçoises have recently unlocked their win tally and approach this match with the ambition of reigniting their season and reducing the gap in the standings.
What if the surprise of the year comes from Nice? Seeing the last-place team take down the undisputed leader would certainly be one of the biggest upsets of the season.
Division 1 Men’s Softball
The championship final between Contes and Nice will not take place this weekend after all. The match has been postponed due to weather conditions and will be played on the weekend of July 4th.
