The Cometz de Metz: A Rise That Commands Respect
Since 2019, the Cometz de Metz have been competing in the top tier of French baseball, fighting to secure their place in Division 1. Long accustomed to battling at the bottom of the standings, they have managed to turn the tide, as evidenced by their impressive fifth-place finish last year and their status as runners-up in the Challenge de France.

A Strengthened Roster and Clear Ambitions
Under the guidance of Dominican Yeixon Ruiz, confirmed as manager by president David Ten Eyck, and supported by Victorien Roze, the Messins approach this new season with determination. They can always rely on their ace Alexis Paredes, as well as some key reinforcements with the arrival of Venezuelan Edward Paredes in the bullpen.
The American Daniel Crossan will bring versatility as an utility player, while the Japanese Masaharu Hamada will strengthen the game at second base. Another major asset: Mateo Algeni, a catcher who structures the defensive lineup.
Alongside Roze, the Hansch and Frulloni families form a solid foundation. But it is above all the youth who embody the future of the club. With an impressive contingent of JFL players under 20 years old, the Comètz prove that it is possible to maintain their standing by investing in development, with the potential for a bright future.

A Club in Full Development
While sporting ambitions are soaring, the infrastructure is keeping pace. By the end of April, a brand-new clubhouse will be unveiled, featuring proper locker rooms, a space to welcome officials, and a broadcasting system that will enhance the club’s visibility.
Despite finances that still need balancing, the Comètz are moving forward with confidence. The only dark spot: their grueling schedule. As every year, Metz will be the team that accumulates the most miles on the road, a significant challenge. But one thing is certain: with their energy and steady progress, the Comètz are not here to make up the numbers. They want to shine and make their mark.
