The competition, originally scheduled for 2020 but postponed due to Covid-19, will take place in Friuli di Venezia, Italy, from June 27 to July 3. It serves as a qualifier for the 2022 World Games in Birmingham.
The European Softball Federation confirmed the event on May 14 last year, and we will have to wait until the 30-day deadline to know the final list of participating teams and consequently the opponents of the French team. 19 teams have so far confirmed their participation for an edition marked by the evolution of the game format. The top 8 teams from Euro 2019 will directly compete in the Super Round.
For their first outing since the start of the pandemic, the French national team played a three-game series against Spain in Sant Boi on May 13 and 14, 2021. At the Euro, the French will be able to count on the presence of Mélissa Mayeux and Kimane Rogron, who are shining this season in the United States, respectively in the NCAA Division 1 and NJCAA.
