Brazilian player, he is not unknown to French lands having played in the past with Stade Toulousain (2015 with a .410 batting average). Today, he returned to Montigny to join his friend Do Carmo and boasts a .500 average. Tall, athletic, a power hitter, meet with the Baseball TV France team to get to know him better

BTVF : Who are you Allan Belen Fanhoni?
I am a guy that loves what he does and is very thankful for all that baseball has brought and built in my life. A dedicated professional player who has worked hard and learned a lot around the world in different leagues. My dream is to have a memorable career and play this sport for as long as I can.

BTVF : Japan, Brazil, Germany, Italy, France. You are able to compare all these approaches to baseball. What do you retain in relation to your own way of playing?
Playing in Japan built almost all of my way of playing and seeing baseball. That’s where I played for eight years. European leagues made me a stronger player because they gave me the opportunity to face really good players from different countries. Playing in Brazil gives me the chance to play with my friends and the guys I grew up watching as a fan. All of this makes me the player I am.

BTVF : At this stage of the championship, you have the best average. It is surely a satisfaction. However, your team has lost as many times as it has won. It is not the start to the season you hoped for. How can you and the Cougars do better?
We have a really good team, a mix with a lot of experience and young guys that make a good team. We just need to focus more and keep working hard day by day. That’s how the good results will come.

BTVF : You are a power hitter, describe the opposite feelings you have when you hit a home run, a hit, or a strikeout?
A home run is the best feeling for us hitters in the game, bringing you satisfaction about your work. A hit shows that your work is going well and that your plans for the game are happening.
A strikeout is the feeling that makes you understand something is wrong and needs to change, normally a bad feeling. My best memory was my home run at the beginning in Japan. I was fighting for a position on the team, and after the home run, everything started. My worst memory was the strikeout in the 2013 World Baseball Classic against China because we never know when you can play this tournament with your national team again. It frustrates me a lot.

BTVF : What can we wish for you?
That I can play the entire season healthy and help my team reach the top.
