What a year for the treble: Challenge de France, European Cup B, and French Championship. Rouen has become unstoppable and victorious again. They’ve secured Savigny’s spot in the European Cup B as the league’s runners-up, while the Rouennais can reclaim their place in the European Cup A.
This 17th French Championship title is down to the players, but especially their new manager: Boris Marche. For a debut, he can be proud to have replaced Keino Perez.

Did they get help from other teams to win? It’s possible, as Montpellier surprisingly collapsed and Savigny lacked pitching depth. The real issue is clear: pitching depth, having enough reliable arms to handle consecutive games. When foreign players, expected to be winning machines, lose form or leave before the season ends, the team struggles to sustain performance. Rouen, however, boasts a strong and consistent lineup of French pitchers, giving them an extra edge.
We’ll look back at the entire 2022 season. It’s unusual to wrap up so early, but the World Baseball Classic, where the French team will compete under Bruce Bochy, is the main reason. Still, as spectators, we’re a bit frustrated by the limited number of games.
Congrats to the Huskies
